Rigidized Metals Corp.
In 1938, Richard S. "Stainless" Smith invented the process to "Rigidize" or emboss three-dimensional patterns into flat rolled metals and discovered that not only were these unique patterns attractive, but also much stronger, and much more rigid.
On July 8, 1940, Rigidized® Metals Corporation was born. For over sixty years and three generations, Rigidized® and the Smith family has led the world in the production of deep textured design-strengthened metals for an endless variety of architectural and industrial applications. From the crowns of skyscrapers to the bases of column covers, Rigidized® provides architects, designers and engineers with ways to make your metal design ideas happen.
