Designed to preserve the beauty and life of wood roofing, Benjamin Obdyke Incorporated's Cedar Breather is a fire-resistant underlayment for wood shingles and shakes that provides a space for continuous air flow between the solid roof deck and the shingles. This eliminates excess moisture and allows the underside of the shingles to dry, prevents thermal cupping and warping, and reduces potential rotting. The matrix is unaffected by UV light, heat or cold, resulting in long-lasting, durable performance. It even provides cushioning during severe hail.
Fast and easy to install, Cedar Breather can be rolled out over standard 30-lb. felt, without the use of special tools. The product eliminates the need for furring strips.
Each Cedar Breather roll measures 39 in. wide by 61 ½ ft. in length, covers 200 sq. ft., and weighs 9.7 lbs. per roll.
