Benjamin Obdyke Incorporated PlyPatch may be used for quick, easy, and relatively inexpensive patching of roof holes when converting attic ventilation systems from roof pots to ridge ventilation. The product also can be used by roofers when replacing old roof pots with new pots.
PlyPatch consists of a sheet of plywood with four attached metal drywall clips that can be dropped into the roof pot hole and secured to the roof deck with nails. The durable patch provides enough structural integrity to withstand a load of up to 450 lbs.
Each PlyPatch sheet measures 7 ¾ in. x 7 ¾ in. x 7/16 in. PlyPatch can serve as well as a convenient nail base for shingles. The product can be installed in less than half the time required for the traditional method of cutting the existing hold back to the rafters, then cutting and nailing in a new piece of plywood.
