Neo-modernist to Nature-boy, designer Christopher Poehlmann creates a fusion of styles with his newGROWTH series. These made-to-order wall and ceiling fixtures are pure functional sculpture based upon the artist's concept of morphing industrial material with natural imagery. The newGROWTH fixtures are hand-built from salvaged aluminum pipe in the shape of cut tree branches. When fabricating these lamps, Poehlmann does not use forms or jigs and rarely more than a thumbnail sketch, rather he grows the individual fixtures on his work bench dictated only by the ultimate size desired by each client. Like real tree branches, this organic working process ensures that no two fixtures will ever be alike.
Originally introduced at the 2005 ICFF, this year marks the addition of custom wall sconces and painted fixtures to the newGROWTH series.
newGROWTH is available in brushed aluminum, optional paint finishes and custom sizes from 3-lite wall sconces to 10-lite ceiling fixtures.
