By eliminating the required front, the Heatilator Icon gas fireplace has little to no visible metal around the edges of the fireplace's viewing area. The hearth is practically flush with the floor and the overall appearance replicates that of a traditional masonry fireplace.
The Icon 60 model is more square than rectangular. The opening height is 32-inches and a true brick to brick opening width is 33-inches. The Icon 100 model has a height of 33-inches and a width of 45-inches.
Inside the firebox, hand-painted refractory lining offers a choice of traditional brick or herringbone patterns. Across the front opening, a mesh screen guards the flame that is over a set of over-sized, hand-painted logs and ember bed. The Salem or Portfolio fronts have coordinating andirons in black or bronze finishes.
